Report: Barboza-Yusuff targeted for UFC's Oct. 10 event
The UFC is working to finalize a featherweight clash between Edson Barboza and Sodiq Yusuff for its card on Oct. 10, a source told MMA Junkie's Danny Segura.
The promotion hasn't officially announced the event and where it'll take place.
Barboza would be looking to snap a three-fight skid. He dropped to featherweight in his last bout, losing a split decision to Dan Ige in May. Before the move, the Brazilian was a longtime contender in the lightweight division, where he defeated the likes of Dan Hooker, Paul Felder, and former champ Anthony Pettis.
Yusuff is one of the most promising fighters in the weight class. Since a win on Dana White's Contender Series in 2018, the Nigerian is 4-0 in the UFC, including a January victory over Andre Fili. Yusuff is riding a six-fight winning streak overall, and he's lost only once as a professional.
A bantamweight clash between former title challenger Marlon Moraes and Cory Sandhagen will reportedly headline the event.
