Frankie Edgar's bantamweight debut is on the move again.
The former UFC lightweight champion will fight Pedro Munhoz in the main event of the Aug. 22 card after the promotion failed to put together a matchup between Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington, sources told Brett Okamoto of ESPN.
Edgar (23-8-1) and Munhoz (18-4) were originally slated to face off at UFC 251, but their bout was pushed to July 15. It was moved again to UFC 252 on Aug. 15 after the latter tested positive for COVID-19.
Edgar was supposed to make his 135-pound debut Jan. 25 against Cory Sandhagen. However, the veteran delayed his drop from featherweight, where he has been a three-time title challenger, to step in on short notice against Chan Sung Jung. "The Korean Zombie" won via first-round TKO to hand Edgar a third loss in his last four fights.
Meanwhile, Munhoz saw a three-fight winning streak - which included a TKO victory over former bantamweight king Cody Garbrandt - snapped by No. 2 contender Aljamain Sterling last June.
