Former UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler will reportedly return at UFC 245 against Santiago Ponzinibbio, sources told MMAJunkie's Mike Bohn and John Morgan.
Lawler (28-14, NC) will be searching for his first win since July 2017. The 37-year-old has suffered three straight defeats and most recently lost a decision to Colby Covington in the main event of UFC Newark in August.
Ponzinibbio (27-3) carries a seven-fight win streak into the matchup and is 9-2 overall in the UFC. Injuries have kept the American Top Team product on the shelf, as he hasn't fought since a November 2018 TKO victory over Neil Magny at UFC Fight Night 140.
UFC 245 takes place Dec. 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Here's an updated look at the card.
- Amanda Nunes (c) vs. Germaine de Randamie - women’s bantamweight title
- Jessica Eye vs. Viviane Araujo
- Matt Brown vs. Ben Saunders
- Robbie Lawler vs. Santiago Ponzinibbio (reported)
