Renato Moicano took out Cub Swanson in the first round of their featherweight bout via submission due to rear-naked choke Saturday at UFC 227 in Los Angeles.
After the two fighters spent the opening seconds of the bout feeling each other out, Swanson became the aggressor, swinging hard for the knockout shot.
However, it was Moicano that delivered a killer blow, landing a straight left that sent his opponent to the mat.

Swanson was briefly able to stay alive and take a barrage of punches from Moicano on the ground, but the Brazilian stalked him down and eventually got into position to set up the rear-naked choke.
The win pushed Moicano to 5-1 in the UFC, while the No. 5-ranked Swanson fell to 10-6 and has now lost three straight.
