Torres getting help from Namajunas to prep for Jedrzejczyk fight
Trying to figure out MMA math is often a fool's errand, but getting pointers from the only person to have beaten you're upcoming opponent is pretty much always a good idea.
Tecia Torres (10-2) is applying that type of math to get ready to face former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk (14-2) in July as she is spending some training time with current champ Rose Namajunas (8-3).
Twice since last November, Namajunas has defeated Jedrzejczyk, who was previously undefeated in her career. "Thug Rose" has also handed Torres one of her two career losses when the pair battled to a unanimous decision in April 2016. They also fought in Invicta FC in 2013 where Torres came out on top to give Namajunas her first career loss.
Torres, currently sitting seventh in the UFC strawweight rankings, is set to meet Jedrzejczyk for the first time on July 28 in Calgary. That same card will also feature a lightweight bout between Dustin Poirier and Eddie Alvarez, as well as Jose Aldo and Jeremy Stephens squaring off in a featherweight contest.
