The UFC's maiden voyage to a South American nation not named Brazil is taking form.
The promotion announced a handful of bouts this week for UFC Fight Night 129 - its first bill at Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile - and Alexa Grasso will meet the undefeated Tatiana Suarez in a clash of rising strawweights on May 19.
Grasso, 24, most recently got back in the win column with a split decision over Randa Markos at UFC Fight Night 114 in August, while Suarez last took a lopsided verdict over Viviane Pereira in her return from a 16-month layoff at UFC Fight Night 120 in November.
Joining the strawweights on the bill are welterweights Vicente Luque - whose father hails from Chile - and Chad Laprise. The former has stopped all five of his UFC conquests and was last seen submitting Niko Price in October. The latter has won three straight by TKO - two since moving up from lightweight.
Former Invicta FC and LFA stalwart Andrea Lee will make her long-awaited promotional debut in a flyweight tilt opposite Veronica Macedo, who'll vie for her first UFC victory after falling to bantamweight Ashlee Evans-Smith by third-round TKO in September 2016.
A strawweight tilt between Poliana Botelho and the undefeated Syuri Kondo and a bantamweight clash between Chile's Diego Rivas and Guido Cannetti rounds out the announcement.
The promotion has yet to announce a main event for the May bill.
