Pro sports' quintessential renaissance man is at it again.

Former NFL running back and Olympic bobsledder Herschel Walker recently told SiriusXM's "MMA Tonight" that he's been angling to return to the cage in what would mark just his third MMA fight - and first since January 2011.

The 55-year-old made his initial MMA foray as a heavyweight under the Strikeforce banner nearly eight years ago, picking up a pair of TKO victories against unheralded competition. With former promotional head Scott Coker now running Bellator MMA, Walker said he's already put out some feelers for a comeback bout.

"I've told Scott Coker I'd love to get one more fight in, so if I could get one more fight in, that'd probably be it," Walker told RJ Clifford and AJ Hawk.

The two-time Pro Bowler revealed he still trains in MMA and recently campaigned for a spot in Bellator's upcoming heavyweight grand prix. Coker, however, wasn't particularly receptive to the idea.

"I wish he would. I'm raising my hand, 'Scott, can I get in? Can I get in?' He's saying 'No, Herschel. You're too old.' I'm like, 'No, I'm not that old.'"
