Brock Lesnar has received a final slap on the wrist for his recent transgressions.
As expected, the former UFC heavyweight champion was officially given a one-year suspension from MMA competition due to a pair of failed drug tests surrounding his most recent bout at July's UFC 200.
The United States Anti-Doping Agency announced the suspension Wednesday.
Lesnar's USADA suspension runs concurrent to an identical sanction handed down by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, and he will be eligible to compete again July 15, 2017. The NSAC also fined Lesnar $250,000.
The USADA violation was announced following Lesnar's return from a four-and-a-half year hiatus at UFC 200, where he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision. It was later announced that Lesnar failed an out-of-competition test on June 28 and an in-competition test on July 9. His win over Hunt was subsequently overturned into a no-contest.
Lesnar tested positive for clomiphene, a banned estrogen inhibitor that is on the USADA's specified substance list. The presence of a specified substance in a test sample carries a maximum penalty of one year.
