Triple H: McGregor could come to the WWE, 'he's got it all'
The WWE Universal Championship would look nice sitting next to Conor McGregor's featherweight and lightweight belts.
As far-fetched as that sounds, WWE executive and wrestling legend Triple H thinks McGregor would make a fine addition to his roster. He was in attendance at Madison Square Garden on Saturday to watch McGregor fight Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC 205, and he couldn't help but consider the possibilities.
"He could come over, he's got it all, man - he's got the personality, the skills, the talk. He's an entertainer, for sure," Triple H told The Telegraph's Gareth A. Davies. "What does he walk around at? 180 lbs? I have smaller guys now in the WWE. We have 200-lbs guys who are stars. You don't need to be 300 lbs any more."
A McGregor appearance would follow in the footsteps of countless celebrities who have done business with the WWE, including athletes like Pete Rose, Floyd Mayweather, and Ronda Rousey. In recent months, McGregor has poked fun at the WWE's performers, so there is already a built-in angle for "The Notorious" to step into the squared circle.
Though Triple H didn't expect McGregor to say anything about a potential career change, he's open to having a discussion with the UFC champion.
"If his announcement has anything to do with WWE, then it's news to me," Triple H said. "But yeah, he could do just as well as Floyd Mayweather when he fought the Big Show. That really worked. Conor could do it for sure."
