Idris Elba has some impressive kickboxing chops.
The 44-year-old thespian made his pro debut at London's York Hall this weekend, and pop legend Madonna was ringside to gather video evidence. Elba, best known for his roles as Stringer Bell in HBO's "The Wire" and John Luther in the BBC's "Luther," displayed surprisingly crisp striking in his first trip to the ring.
Elba's debut marks the culmination of his work on a three-part documentary series, titled "Idris Elba: Fighter," in which he dives into the world of kickboxing. The show is scheduled to air on Discovery Channel early next year.
