'Korean Superboy' politely asks Swanson for fight
What's the best way to get a fight with Cub Swanson? Perhaps make a video titled, "I want to fight Cub Swanson."
That's exactly what Doo Ho Choi did on Wednesday, in an effort to pin down a top-five opponent. "The Korean Superboy" recorded a short clip on Facebook, in which he called out Swanson in the most polite manner possible.
"I want it. I have been watching you since even before I made my UFC debut," Choi said. "Since my UFC debut, I have won all three fights in style. I think it will be a good fight between the two of us. We both always try to knock out the opponents. I like these types of fighters.
"Even though my ranking is not high now, like you mentioned before, it is not important whether you fight rookies or the top rankers. If you could tell the UFC that you also want to fight me, that would be great. I want to fight you. I will be looking forward to seeing you in the Octagon."
The 25-year-old Choi joined the UFC in late 2014 and he's recorded first-round knockouts in all three of his appearances.
Swanson is among the longest-tenured featherweights in the WEC and UFC, having competed in 19 bouts across the two organizations. He's on a two-fight winning streak after taking a pair of decisions against Tatsuya Kawajiri and Hacran Dias.
