Jon Jones being pulled from the UFC 200 card just days ahead of the big event won't result in the same fate for his opponent.
Making an appearance on "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd, UFC President Dana White said Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will still fight this weekend.
White also indicated that an announcement regarding the fight would ideally come at some point Thursday.
Though the late development gives a new challenger little time to prepare, there will likely be no shortage of fighters interested in replacing Jones on the star-studded card.
New UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping expressed interest in the fight Thursday. White shot down that idea in his interview with Cowherd, however, saying Bisping is in no condition to take on Cormier.
