Bisping: I'll fight Cormier at UFC 200

UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping says he'll step in to fight Daniel Cormier at Saturday's UFC 200 on short notice.

Cormier was left without an opponent for the main event after Jon Jones was popped for a potential violation of the anti-doping policy stemming from a June drug test.

Cormier says he's still willing to fight at what is being billed as the biggest UFC event ever, and Bisping says he'll happily step up:

Bisping is already in Las Vegas as part of the television broadcast team, so that major logistical hurdle has been cleared. But there are still several roadblocks in the way of re-booking Cormier.

UFC president Dana White said Wednesday that the only way Cormier will fight is if a high-profile and worthy opponent can be secured.

"We'll have to see who wants the fight, who steps forward and realistically, how good of a fight we'd think it would be," White said, according to FOX Sports' Damon Martin. "This is the best card ever. Rather than having Cormier fight someone that absolutely, positively should not be fighting him, I'd rather have him not fight."

Gegard Mousasi has also offered to fight Cormier. He is currently scheduled to fight Thiago Santos on the undercard.
