Colombus Crew snap up ex-Molde man Ola Kamara
The Columbus Crew have signed Ola Kamara in a bid to bolster Gregg Berhalter's attack before the 2016 Major League Soccer season, the club announced Thursday.
Seven-time Norway international Kamara, who is no relation to Crew star striker Kei Kamara, last represented Molde, where he scored 14 goals across 29 appearances, and counts as a Discovery Signing.
"We have been tracking Ola for quite some time and we are pleased to welcome him to Crew SC," Berhalter said.
"Adding a player of his caliber makes our squad stronger as we continue to prepare for the 2016 Major League Soccer season. Not only does he bring a different attacking profile to our club, but his scoring record and past production speaks for itself. We are confident that he has a bright future with Columbus."
Columbus kicks off its 2016 campaign at MLS Cup runners-up Portland Timbers on Mar. 6.
