LA Galaxy sign trio of players to new contracts
The LA Galaxy announced Tuesday the club has penned new contracts with three key players, bringing back left full-back Robbie Rogers, forward Jose Villarreal, and midfielder Rafael Garcia.
The three players, each born in Los Angeles, will return for the 2016 season onward, though exact terms were not disclosed.
Rogers, 28, joined the Galaxy in 2013 and has established himself as the club's starting left full-back. He has made 57 regular-season appearances for the Galaxy, scoring once and notching six assists.
Villarreal, 22, signed on as a Homegrown Player in 2012 and has scored five goals and recorded six assists in 53 starts. Garcia, 27, was drafted by the club in the 2012 MLS Supplemental Draft and has featured as a role player in midfield, making 21 appearances since signing with the Galaxy.
