D.C. United winger Chris Pontius won't just let his side keel over and die in the MLS playoff Eastern Conference knockout round, scoring a perfect header off a Fabian Espindola free-kick to give his side a fighting chance against the New England Revolution.
Down 1-0 after conceding a 16th-minute bicycle kick to Juan Agudelo, D.C. United fought back to equalize at the stroke of halftime via Pontius' headed effort.
The sparse crowd at RFK Stadium celebrated wildly as the two teams entered the locker rooms at the half tied 1-1.
