UCLA midfielder Jackson Yueill is heading to the San Jose Earthquakes to begin his MLS adventure, having been drafted 6th overall in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
The 19-year-old made 40 appearances over two seasons at UCLA, where he scored nine goals and recorded 17 assists, and joins San Jose with a Generation Adidas contract and plenty of experience in the U.S. national youth team ranks.
Yueill was projected to be selected high in the draft, boosted by his Generation Adidas designation, which means his salary will not count against the Earthquakes' salary cap.
He'll have plenty of competition in the form of Anibal Godoy, Marc Pelosi, Darwin Ceren, Fatai Alashe, and Matheus Silva for a spot in Dominic Kinnear's midfield.
