New York City FC captain David Villa wasn't content to walk out of MAPFRE Stadium with nothing to show for his team's efforts.
It's why the Spanish striker scored an 83rd-minute goal off a well-placed Andrea Pirlo chip pass to restore a tied 2-2 scoreline against the Columbus Crew, just minutes after Ethan Finlay tucked away a penalty to give the home team a slight edge.
The goal counts as Villa's 14th of the season and moves him into joint-second in the Golden Boot race, now one goal behind Toronto FC ace Sebastian Giovinco and tied with New York Red Bulls forward Bradley Wright-Phillips, who notched a brace earlier in the day to become his team's all-time top scorer in league play.
