New York Red Bulls captain Dax McCarty got the party started early Saturday at Yankee Stadium, scoring a thumping header off a (relatively short-distanced) corner kick just three minutes into a match against bitter rivals New York City FC.
McCarty's headed effort marks his first goal of the season, and it came at the perfect time as the stuttering Red Bulls look for all three points in the rivalry match.
