The Pittsburgh Pirates will be sporting a retro look when they close out certain series this summer.
On Thursday, less than 24 hours before their first official spring workout for pitchers and catchers, the Pirates unveiled their alternate Sunday uniforms for the upcoming campaign: a throwback ensemble that hearkens back to 1979, when the Pirates won their fifth and most recent World Series title.

The uniforms notably feature a pillbox cap with three gold stripes, as well as beltless black pants complete with gold and black piping that evoke Pirates legend Kent Tekulve, who secured Pittsburgh's 4-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles in Game 7 of the 1979 Fall Classic with his third save of the series.
