Nava agreed to a one-year deal with the Angels on Wednesday, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Analysis:
The contract carries a base salary of $1.375 million, and Nava could earn up to $500,000 more based on incentives. Nava had productive seasons with the Red Sox in 2013 and 14, but was unable to work his way into the starting lineup last season, as he notched just a .560 OPS in time split between Boston and the Tampa Bay Rays. Despite the poor showing, Nava has traditionally hit righties well, which could mean he will be given a chance to see time as a platoon bat in left field.
