VIDEO: Odor spikes Giavotella with vicious slide
Prior to the Rangers' stunning collapse Saturday, Texas did its best to stomp the Los Angeles Angels right out of the playoff picture - literally.
During the Rangers' four-run fifth inning, second baseman Rougned Odor took out the Angels' Johnny Giavotella with a cleat-up slide at second base.

The Angels would go on to inflict more pain than a slide, however, plating five runs in the ninth to shock the Rangers and prevent them from clinching the division.
"The best way to retaliate in those situations is just to beat the team," Giavotella told reporters. "You can't get personal."
Texas can still win its first American League West crown in four years if the Houston Astros defeat the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Angels, meanwhile, now trail Houston by a half-game for the AL's second wild-card spot.
