White Sox's Sale attempted to crash Royals clubhouse following ejection
Chris Sale couldn't get enough of the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.
The Chicago White Sox left-hander attempted to infiltrate the Royals clubhouse following his ejection, presumably to continue the melee with Kansas City players that were also tossed from the game, including Edinson Volquez.
"I didn't see it, but somebody told me he was knocking on the door," Volquez told ESPN's Doug Padilla.
Injured Royals outfielder Alex Rios played a role in keeping the peace behind the scenes, according to one of Padilla's sources.
Sale played dumb when asked about the off-field incident.
"I mean, there's really nothing to talk about; it is what it is," Sale said. "What's done is done. It's all in the past. Baseball's a day-to-day sport. Every day is a new day, so anything that happened yesterday, we're ready to win a ballgame today, and we're just ready to put this all behind us. Come in every day ready to win, and that's what we're ready to do."
Five players received ejections for their respective roles in the brawl.
