Boston Red Sox left fielder Hanley Ramirez was removed from Monday morning's game against the Baltimore Orioles after the second inning with an illness. He was replaced by Allen Craig

Ramirez grounded out to first base in his only plate appearance.

The three-time All-Star is hitting .255/.321/.574 with a team-leading five homers and 12 RBIs in his first season with the Red Sox.

Ramirez joined Boston during the offseason, signing a four-year, $88-million deal.

Craig, meanwhile, has been used sparingly, largely relegated to pinch-hitting duties due to a crowded depth chart. He entered the contest hitting .077/.200/.077 in 15 plate appearances.
