Ramiro Pena elects free agency

Atlanta Braves second baseman Ramiro Pena is now a free agent.
Pena has refused his minor-league assignment after being designated for it in mid-November.
The utilityman hit .245 with three home runs and nine RBIs in 81 games for the Braves last season, and should find work with another club this winter seeking middle infield help.
The 29-year-old has also spent time in the New York Yankees organization.
