The procedure ends a short and nightmarish first season for Fielder in Arlington, after he was acquired in the offseason in a trade with Detroit for second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Fielder hit .247/.360/.360 in 42 games, with three home runs, eight doubles, and 16 RBI. His .113 ISO declined for a fourth straight season, and was the lowest of his career, as was his 85 wRC+.
Fielder's owed $24 million through 2020.
Get well soon, Prince.
