The Detroit Tigers are still looking for a replacement for the injured Jose Iglesias with just over a week until Opening Day, and some of the options they're considering may surprise you.
Manager Brad Ausmus revealed to EPSN on Saturday that the team has "talked about" bringing back their 46-year-old first-base coach and former shortstop, Omar Vizquel.
The 11-time Gold Glover retired in 2012, but Ausmus believes Vizquel could still do the job "part-time" and acknowledged he still has "great hands." Vizquel has been taking ground balls all spring to provide hands-on instruction to campers and isn't that far out of game shape.
The Tigers traded for Andrew Romine earlier in the week and are reportedly seeking a deal with free-agent SS Stephen Drew, making a Vizquel comeback attempt very unlikely.
