San Diego Padres star closer Mason Miller wasn't available for Tuesday's 4-3 win in Game 3 of the NLDS after going on the paternity list.
The Padres staved off elimination to force Game 4 vs. the Milwaukee Brewers despite not having Miller.
The Padres are without Mason Miller for at least tonight. He has been placed on the paternity list. He said he was hoping baby would come while Padres were at home so he would miss as little time as possible, but there was no way he was missing the birth of his first child.

Under MLB postseason rules, Miller is allowed to sit out a minimum of one day and a maximum of three days.
Left-hander Wandy Peralta took Miller's place for the game.
Miller blew a save in Game 2 after going 38-for-41 in save opportunities during the regular season.
