Rice's Jacurri Brown: Bounces back with two scores in loss

Rotowire• ·

Brown was 11-for-18 passing for 121 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 28-21 loss to Western Michigan. He also had 23 rushes for 128 yards with one touchdown.

Analysis:

After a low-production blowout loss to Notre Dame, Brown produced a much-needed rebound in Week 3. He wasn't able to lead Rice to a victory, but the offense revolved heavily around the quarterback as he racked up over 100 rushing yards and more than 20 carries for the first time this season. Late in the fourth quarter, he connected with Barry Jackson for an eight-yard touchdown pass, marking his first passing score of the year. Brown's usage should continue spiking moving forward due to Quinton Jackson's (undisclosed) absence.
