The Los Angeles Angels designated slugger Jorge Soler for assignment Tuesday amid a roster shuffle.
Soler is in the final season of a three-year, $42-million contract he signed with the San Francisco Giants prior to the 2024 campaign.
Since inking the deal, Soler has been traded twice. The Giants dealt him to the Atlanta Braves in July 2024, then the Braves moved him to the Angels in October of that year.
Soler slashed .208/.292/.380 with 24 home runs and 83 RBIs in 168 games with the Angels.
The move comes one day after Los Angeles moved José Soriano, Jo Adell, Ryan Zeferjahn, Brent Suter, and Kirby Yates before the trade deadline.
