Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski wasn't happy with the mound at Angel Stadium following Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Angels.
"It was awful," Misiorowski said postgame, according to ESPN. "It was probably one of the worst mounds I've had. It was dry. It was rock-hard."
Misiorowski, whose velocity dipped from his standard, called for the grounds crew to conduct maintenance on the mound several times throughout the contest.
The 6-foot-7 Cy Young candidate said the mound posed an injury risk because his landing spot wasn't properly taken care of.
"Yeah, of course," Misiorowski said. "There's always an injury risk. Any time that there's something astray, it's always a possibility.
"I land so much further than most guys. They don't really fix that part of the mound."
Despite the mound issues, Misiorowski struck out 10 and allowed just two hits. However, one of those hits - a two-run homer to Wade Meckler - wound up being costly.
"You can't blame it on (the mound)," Misiorowski said. "I gotta do my job."
