The Los Angeles Angels reinstated Mike Trout from the 10-day injured list Wednesday, clearing the way for the three-time AL MVP to play in his first All-Star Game since 2019.
Trout is hitting second as the Angels' DH on Wednesday against the Texas Rangers.
Trout missed nearly three weeks with a right hamstring strain, the latest in a litany of injuries he's suffered over the last several years. The strain halted what was the 34-year-old's best overall season in four years, as he owns a .234/.394/.472 slash line with 17 homers and 36 RBIs across 335 plate appearances.
Despite the injury, Trout was selected to his 12th All-Star Game when fans voted him into the AL's starting lineup for the seventh time in his career. It's the first time he's been chosen since 2023; Trout was named to the AL All-Star team every year from 2021-23 but had to miss each of those games due to injuries.
The Angels designated infielder Donovan Walton for assignment in a corresponding roster move.
