Baltimore Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg will undergo season-ending elbow surgery, a source told The Baltimore Banner's Andy Kostka.
Westburg hasn't played this season after it was revealed during spring training that he had a partially torn UCL in his throwing elbow in addition to an oblique injury.
The 27-year-old was cleared to resume throwing at the beginning of April, but he was shut down May 4 after experiencing renewed discomfort.
Westburg was an integral part of Baltimore's lineup through his first three seasons, slashing .264/.312/.456 with 38 home runs and 127 RBIs in 260 games.
Coby Mayo, Blaze Alexander, and Weston Wilson have shared third-base duties for the Orioles with Westburg sidelined.
