The Chicago Cubs agreed to a two-year contract with with free-agent right-hander Shelby Miller, sources told ESPN's Jesse Rogers.

He's guaranteed at least $2.5 million in salary, Rogers reports.

Miller is expected to miss the entire 2026 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery last October.

The 35-year-old pitched well for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Milwaukee Brewers last season, posting a 2.74 ERA and 10.6 K/9 in 48 appearances between the two teams.

Once a highly regarded starter, Miller shifted to the bullpen in 2021, and the move revitalized his career. His best campaign as a reliever came in 2023 as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, when he authored a 1.71 ERA and 0.91 WHIP.

This will be Miller's second stint with the Cubs after he made three unsuccessful appearances (31.50 ERA) for them in 2021.
