The Arizona Diamondbacks traded third baseman Blaze Alexander to the Baltimore Orioles for right-hander Kade Strowd and minor leaguers Wellington Aracena and José Mejía, the clubs announced Thursday.

Alexander posted a .706 OPS with 28 RBIs in 74 games for the D-Backs last season after making his major-league debut in 2024.

The versatile 26-year-old has appeared at six positions during his two big-league seasons, accruing four defensive runs saved.

Strowd made his major-league debut in 2025. The 28-year-old posted a 1.71 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings for the Orioles.

Aracena, 21, spent last season in the minor-league systems of the Orioles and New York Mets. The right-hander posted a 2.25 ERA and 11.2 K/9 across two levels.

He was the 26th-ranked prospect in the Orioles' system before the deal, according to MLB Pipeline.

Mejía is a 20-year-old Dominican infielder who posted an .821 OPS in the low minors last season.
