VIDEO: Hall of Famer George Brett has a meltdown over autograph

Hall of Famer George Brett had a run-in Wednesday with a relentless autograph seeker when he arrived at Kansas City International Airport from California.

As the former Royals slugger dropped expletives all over the tarmac, the fan was filming the entire incident. The YouTube clip showed up on KCTV5, a local television station on Thursday, according to MLB.com.

The station identified Brandon Farrens as the man who followed Brett through the terminal to the baggage claim area and approached him again at his car.

Warning: Brett's selection of language might be offensive to some.

"I've seen the guy on numerous occasions before and I've signed for him many times," Brett said. "After a while, I got tired of signing for the same guy and told him, 'No more, I'm done with you.'"

Brett alleged that Farrens repeatedly came up to him at the airport and admitted his temper was getting 'a little off'. The former pro didn't know how the man was aware of his travel plans. Farrens told KCTV he received an autograph from Brett roughly 15 times before and admitted to selling it.

"Bad choice of words," Brett said. "After declining his requests five or six times walking through the terminal, waiting for my bags, I'd had enough. I didn't know how else to get him off my back. He got his autograph, he was unharmed."

The Royals vice president of baseball operations issued an apology, but noted that he happily signed for a few fans and baggage personnel before the run-in with Farrens.

"I apologize for using foul language in a public place to a guy that's been stalking me for a long time," Brett said.
