Red Sox trade Grissom to Angels for prospect
The Boston Red Sox traded infielder Vaughn Grissom to the Los Angeles Angels for minor-league outfielder Isaiah Jackson, the teams announced Tuesday.
Grissom failed to live up to expectations in Boston after he was acquired from the Atlanta Braves for Chris Sale prior to the 2024 campaign. Sale went on to win the 2024 NL Cy Young.
The 24-year-old Grissom appeared in 31 games for the Red Sox, slashing .190/.246/.219 with 24 strikeouts in 114 plate appearances.
He spent the entire 2025 campaign with Triple-A Worcester, hitting 13 home runs and posting a .783 OPS while rotating defensively through first, second, third, and shortstop.
Jackson was the Angels' No. 25-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline.
The 21-year-old played 10 contests in the Northwest League after finishing out his college career at Arizona State, where he posted a 1.032 OPS in his final season with the school.
The Angels selected Jackson in the eighth round of the 2025 entry draft.
