The Miami Marlins are interested in extending Eury Pérez and plan to discuss a long-term deal with his representatives this offseason, a source told MLB.com's Christina De Nicola.

Miami plans to re-engage with Pérez's camp after reportedly discussing a contract extension with the 22-year-old during spring training while he was rehabbing from Tommy John surgery.

Pérez returned to make 20 starts for the Marlins in 2025, authoring a 4.25 ERA and 9.9 K/9 in 95 1/3 innings. He finished seventh in NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2023 after striking out 108 hitters in 91 1/3 frames.

The Marlins also reportedly discussed a contract extension with outfielder Kyle Stowers and are actively pursuing free agents such as Michael King and other starting pitchers, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal and Evan Drellich.

Miami finished last season with a 79-83 record after winning 62 games in 2024.
