San Diego Padres right-hander Yu Darvish will miss the entire 2026 season after undergoing UCL repair surgery with an internal brace in his pitching elbow last Wednesday, the club announced Tuesday.
Darvish authored a 5.38 ERA with 1.18 WHIP and 8.5 K/9 over 72 innings (15 starts) after dealing with elbow issues in 2025.
"I will be working hard on my rehab to be able to throw a ball comfortably again," the 39-year-old wrote on X.
Darvish is still owed $46 million over three years after signing a six-year, $108-million extension in February 2023.
The five-time All-Star logged a combined 290 innings (55 starts) over the last three years due to multiple injuries.
