What the odds say: Blue Jays favored to advance to World Series
The Toronto Blue Jays are odds-on favorites to advance to the World Series after eliminating the New York Yankees in four games Wednesday night.
Regardless of whether they play the Detroit Tigers or Seattle Mariners in the ALCS, oddsmakers at ESPN BET and theScore Bet have pegged the Blue Jays as the favorites, currently at -135 (57.4% implied probability), to reach the World Series.
Toronto is also the second favorite at +300 to win its first title since 1993, behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers, who lead their division series 2-1 over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Blue Jays are the first team to punch their ticket to the league championship round.

The Blue Jays were +750 to win the World Series before the playoffs started, behind only the Mariners among American League teams. The Phillies entered as the favorites at +400, and the Dodgers were second at +500.
Game 5 of the ALDS between the Tigers and Mariners is scheduled for Friday at 8:08 p.m. ET. The winner will head to Toronto for Game 1 of the ALCS on Sunday.
