Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer wasn't happy with the umpires in Tuesday's game against the the Boston Red Sox after they appeared to miss back-to-back calls during a 4-1 loss.
The umpires called Springer out on strikes with the bases loaded in the second inning after the previous pitch he hit down the third-base line was ruled foul despite appearing to be fair.
Springer, clearly upset with the called third strike, slammed his bat against the ground as he walked away from home plate.

The third-strike call looked more outside the zone than the first pitch of the at-bat, which was ruled a ball.
"It was a fair ball down the third-base line," Blue Jays manager John Schneider said postgame, according to Sportsnet. "I thought it was fair. People in our replay room thought it was fair, and it's not a reviewable play. It sucks. It's two runs there and it's a 2-1 game."
He added, "It should've been a two-run double."
The Blue Jays' loss shrunk their lead in the AL East to one game over the New York Yankees with five games remaining on the schedule.
