Phillies place Turner, Bohm on IL
The Philadelphia Phillies placed infielders Trea Turner and Alec Bohm on the injured list Monday, manager Rob Thomson told reporters, including Devan Kaney of Fox 29 Philly.
Turner injured his hamstring trying to beat out a grounder Sunday against the Miami Marlins. Thomson said Turner's MRI revealed a Grade 1 hamstring strain and they expect him back for the postseason.
Bohm has a sore shoulder, and the team believes he'll return in 10 days.
Turner leads the National League with 6.6 fWAR, while Bohm's 51 RBIs are the sixth most among all Phillies.
The pair joins ace starter Zack Wheeler (thoracic outlet syndrome) on the IL as the Phillies attempt to hold onto the NL East division lead with 19 games remaining on their schedule.
Otto Kemp and Donovan Walton were called up to take over active spots on Philadelphia's roster, according to The Athletic's Matt Gelb.
