Finnegan has been terrific for the Tigers since they acquired him from the Washington Nationals at the trade deadline. The 34-year-old has allowed three hits and no runs to go along with four saves in 12 games for Detroit.
The Tigers reinstated outfielder Parker Meadows in a corresponding move.
Meadows hasn't played since July 27 because of an injured quad. He's in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Chicago White Sox.
