Los Angeles Angels outfielder Taylor Ward was carted off the field at Daikin Park on Sunday after hitting his face against the scoreboard in left field while attempting to make a catch in the eighth inning.

A bloodied Ward immediately walked over to the Angels' bullpen, where his face was covered with towels by his teammates.
Athletic trainers from both teams tended to the injured outfielder before he left the field.
"I've talked about this before, but there should be no out-of-town metal scoreboard anywhere on the baseball field," Ward's teammate Jo Adell said, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register.
"It's the big leagues. This shit is ridiculous."
Angels manager Ray Montgomery said Ward was taken in an ambulance to the hospital, where he'll receive stitches to close a cut above his right eye and undergo further evaluation.
