The Miami Marlins traded outfielder Jesús Sánchez to the Houston Astros for right-hander Ryan Gusto, infielder Chase Jaworsky, and outfielder Esmil Valencia, the teams announced Thursday.

Sánchez owns a .740 OPS with 10 home runs, 36 RBIs, and nine steals in 86 games this season. The 27-year-old provides the Astros with a much-needed lefty bat for their right-handed-heavy lineup.

Gusto owns a 7-4 record with a 4.92 ERA in 86 big-league innings in 2025, his first in the majors.

Jaworsky is the Astros' No. 13-ranked prospect, according to MLB Pipeline. The 21-year-old infielder owns a .712 OPS with 29 RBIs and 24 steals at High-A Asheville.

Valencia, 19, is slashing .263/.325/.357 with five homers, 36 RBIs, and 50 steals at Single-A Fayetteville this season.

The trade for Sánchez comes on the heels of the Astros reacquiring infielder Carlos Correa in a deal with the Minnesota Twins.
