The Colorado Rockies traded right-hander Tyler Kinley to the Atlanta Braves for right-hander Austin Smith, the teams announced Wednesday.

Kinley owns a 5.66 ERA and 9.6 K/9 in 49 appearances this season. The 34-year-old has spent the past six campaigns with the Rockies, authoring a 5.05 ERA and 4.25 FIP in that span.

Meanwhile, Smith owns a 4.31 ERA and 9.8 K/9 in the minors this season.

The Braves designated right-hander Enyel De Los Santos for assignment to create a 40-man roster spot for Kinley.

Injuries have plagued Atlanta of late: The team's entire Opening Day rotation, as well as several members of its bullpen, are on the IL.

Colorado could move three other relievers - Seth Halvorsen, Jake Bird, and Victor Vodnik - before the trade deadline, Feinsand adds.
