The New York Yankees added some more infield help Saturday, acquiring Amed Rosario from the Washington Nationals for pitcher Clayton Beeter and minor-league outfielder Browm Martinez, the teams announced.

Rosario's addition comes one day after New York added third baseman Ryan McMahon in a trade with the Colorado Rockies.

The 29-year-old brings some more versatility to the Yankees' bench. Rosario is a natural shortstop, but has bounced between second and third this season. He also has some experience in the outfield, which could be helpful while Aaron Judge is on the injured list.

Rosario joined the Nationals on a one-year, $2-million contract in January, and hit .270/.310/.426 with five home runs and 18 RBIs over 46 games before the trade. The nine-year veteran has also crushed left-handed pitching, slashing .299/.333/.483 with three homers and 10 extra-base hits over 93 plate appearances against southpaws.

Beeter, the Yankees' No. 20 prospect before the trade per MLB.com, made his big-league debut in 2024 and got into two games for New York this year. The 26-year-old owns a 3.10 ERA with a 14.6 K/9 rate and two saves over 20 1/3 innings at Triple-A this season. However, he's also walking over seven batters per nine innings.

Martinez, 18, was signed by the Yankees out of the Dominican Republic in January 2024. He's spent his first two professional seasons with the Yankees' Dominican Summer League affiliate, where he's hit .320/.426/.419 with three homers, 35 RBIs, and 34 steals over 209 total plate appearances.
