The New York Yankees are one of several teams that have spoken with the Pittsburgh Pirates about the availability of outfielder Oneil Cruz, according to Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pittsburgh's front office has received plenty of calls about the 26-year-old but the team is not actively shopping the player and don't expect to move Cruz before this year's July 31 trade deadline, per Hiles.

The Yankees could use Cruz's power-speed combo. He's recorded 16 homers with an MLB-high 33 stolen bases to go along with a .739 OPS over 91 games this season.

New York may also be looking for long-term help in the outfield with Cody Bellinger holding a $25-million player option for 2026, while Trent Grisham can test free agency in the offseason.

Cruz is under club control through the 2028 campaign, as he's arbitration-eligible starting in 2026.

The Yankees enter Thursday's action in the AL's top wild-card spot. The Pirates sit last in the NL Central.
