Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa and outfielder Byron Buxton are in concussion protocol after leaving Thursday's game against the Baltimore Orioles after they collided with each other during the third inning, the team announced.

The two players' heads appeared to make contact during the accident.

Correa walked off the field with a trainer after a long delay. Buxton, who sustained a concussion in 2014, initially stayed in the game but was removed an inning later.

Buxton homered in the third inning before exiting, while Correa was 0-for-1 in the contest before leaving.

Even without the two stars, the Twins defeated the Orioles 4-0 to earn their 11th straight win.
