Mariners' Raley out at least 6 weeks due to oblique strain
Seattle Mariners outfielder Luke Raley will need a minimum of six weeks to recover from a right oblique strain, general manager Justin Hollander announced Wednesday, according to Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.
Raley acknowledged that he sustained the injury while swinging during batting practice Tuesday.
"Sometimes they heal really quick, and sometimes they linger and take a while," Raley said. "It's really painful. Until that calms down, I've just got to kind of wait."
The 30-year-old joins Dylan Moore, Victor Robles, Logan Gilbert, and George Kirby on the injured list.
"We're really beat up right now, but ... no one's going to feel sorry for us, so we'll do everything we can to give these guys the best chance," Hollander said, per Adam Jude of The Seattle Times.
Raley has gone deep twice with eight RBIs and a .669 OPS over 24 games this season after hitting a career-high 22 homers with a 129 wRC+ across 137 contests in 2024.
The Mariners promoted rookie outfielder Rhylan Thomas to take Raley's place on the active roster.
